About Us

The Werrington Park Model Aero Club Incorporated (WPMAC) has a history spanning some 28 years.  Unfortunately we have recently (April 2009) had to vacate our long standing flying site at Werrington which was located approximately 50km west of Sydney on the University of Western Sydney's Werrington Campus.

Our current flying field is located near Mulgoa approximately 56km west of Sydney off Chain-O-Ponds Road and is approximately 5 minutes south of Penrith via the Northern Road.  This field is located on private property and, by agreement with the owner is not open to casual visitors or the general public.  Gates are locked at all times.  Members generally fly every Sunday  morning (no engine start before 9:00am) and access may be extended to visitors in the company of a member or by prior arrangement with a committe member.

  • With approximately 50 members (Sep 2009) , the majority fly radio controlled powered (IC & electric) aircraft, gliders and helicopters. There are currently no control line aircraft facilities but it could be catered for if there was an active interest.
  • We run 3-4 competitions per year including scale rallies and glider events (to be reviewed now that we no longer have access to the Werrington field).
  • We hold a hot dog or sausage sizzle (at nominal fee) at Mulgoa on the first Sunday of every month.

  • General meetings are held every three months (3rd Friday in February, June, August, & November).  Notification to members and agenda is generally via email or letter.
